Job summary

Kemin Industries seeks a detail-oriented Quality Assistant to join our team in Des Moines, IA. You will support Operations and external customers through analytical and wet chemistry activities to ensure product quality and integrity.

This role schedules Monday–Friday days with some weekend work as needed, and involves sampling, analyses, instrumentation support, documentation, and collaboration with Operations and Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with two years of related experience OR Associates Degree in a science-related field.
• Previous manufacturing, warehouse, inventory, inspection or related experience preferred.
• Must have and maintain an insurable driving record.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Must have basic computer skills, including MS Office.
• Ability to operate, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, instruct, and perform method validation on lab equipment.
• Ability to interact well with others in a team environment.
• Must have basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples and receive raw materials and finished goods.
• May test raw materials as applicable.
• May perform raw material, finished goods and packaging release, with supervision, as applicable.
• Must follow all procedures and SOPs and assist with updates.
• Must maintain proper quality documentation.
• Generate Certificate of Analysis.
• Support Change Management process, as necessary.
• Daily data entry into M3 and LIMs, as applicable.
• Report any nonconformities by following applicable SOPs.
• Send out supplier evaluation samples, as applicable.
• Must follow good lab procedures, safety, etc.
• Must work closely with cross functional teams (including Operations, R&D, and other quality groups.)
