Job summary

Kemin Industries is seeking a Customer Laboratory Services Associate (CLS) to join the Kemin Animal Nutrition & Health unit. The role involves hands‑on microbiology work, sample processing, and analysis using plating,PCR, and mold/yeast detection in a collaborative lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field with Microbiology focus.
• 1–3 years of applicable laboratory experience in microbiology.
• Experience with aseptic technique and pour‑plate methodologies.
• Experience handling BSL-2 microbes and safety equipment.

Responsibilities

• Execution of CLS procedures for receipt, chain-of-custody and reporting of microbiological results.
• Execution of CLS procedures for microbiological analysis of customer samples.
• Participation in the development and translation of new microbiology procedures.
• Prioritization of analyses to meet CLS target turnaround time of 95% on-time completion.
• Participation in development of protocols to demonstrate product efficacy in customer applications.
• Preparation of CLS reports and contribution to trial documents and technical literature.
• Review of CLS procedures to ensure accuracy and applicability.
