Job summary

Häfele is seeking a Quality Investigator to support warehouse, production, service, quality, and operational areas. You will investigate open service requests, quarantine nonconforming products, and process RMAs while ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.

This role requires attention to detail, ability to perform inspections, support 5S activities, and work with SAP for QA records. Flexibility to cover extended hours or weekend shifts as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage own workload with little direction.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, weekends or adjusted schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates open service requests and responds with results.
  • Quarantines nonconforming products and notifies affected personnel.
  • Responds to inquiries about service requests, non-conforming product, or spare parts.
  • Collects and maintains quality records and metrics.
  • Performs 5S activities in the Quality area.
  • Processes RMAs including receiving and putaway.
  • Performs 1st piece inspection including BOM checks and item verification.
  • Conducts audits throughout the distribution process.
  • May perform NSP processing if other Quality staff are unavailable.
  • Supports other special projects and duties as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following

Conducts investigation of open service requests. Responds timely to Customer Service with investigation results. Reviews and closes approved QMs in a timely manner.

  • Ensures that 'nonconforming' products related to QMs is quarantined in a timely manner, and affected personnel is notified.
  • Responds to inquiries pertaining to Service requests, non-conforming product, or spare part requests.
  • Collects and maintains assigned quality records and metrics.
  • Periodically reviews QMs, quality notifications, in SAP, and informs management when trends occur.
  • Performs 5S activities in Quality area.
  • Process RMA’s including receiving, preparation for storage and ‘putaway’.
  • Perform 1 st piece inspection for Service + area including BOM checks and Item verification.
  • Perform additional inspections and audits throughout the distribution process.
  • In the absence of other Quality personnel, the Quality Investigator may be required to perform additional responsibilities such as: Processing NSP’s
  • Other special projects and duties may be assigned, as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and keep data logs.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Keeping track of processing time.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, speak, and hear.

Frequently required to move throughout production, warehouse, service, quality, or operational areas.

Occasionally required to bend, stoop, reach, climb, crouch, andlift upto 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability toobservework areas, equipment, and product details safely.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works in a warehouse, production, service, quality, or operational environment with occasional frequent exposure to moving equipment and moderate noise levels.

May be exposed to varying temperatures, dock conditions, tools, equipment, dust, or other common operational conditions.

Must follow all safety rules, personal protective equipment requirements, and operational procedures when in operational areas.

May berequiredto work extended hours, weekends, or adjusted schedules based on business needs.
