Job summary

Oshkosh AeroTech, an Oshkosh company, invites applications for a Quality Intern to support inspection techniques, testing and analysis within an office environment. This paid internship runs 40 hours per week for 8–10 weeks and is not a remote position.

The role emphasizes planning and coordinating inspection phases, collaborating with design engineers and team leaders, and training staff on procedures. Ideal candidates are pursuing a related Bachelor's degree and have strong MS Office skills.

Qualifications

  • Student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Operations Management/Business Administration, or a related field for entire duration of internship.
  • Strong MS Office knowledge, especially in Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Energetic and self-motivated with the ability to work individually or as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices a plus (i.e., Kanban, 5S/6S, A3).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and coordinate detailed phases of inspection on a wide variety of manufacturing concerns.
  • Help to ensure compliance to established procedures and interact with team leaders and subject matter experts, including design engineers to produce documents and help train individuals.
  • Complete research regarding problem areas of varying scope and complexity to develop suitable inspection techniques, monitoring schedules and procedures for application in problem areas.
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing disciplines to resolve production quality problems.
  • Support 6S, Kaizen, A3, and other RCI events.
  • Support RCI Training activities and initiatives.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company's discretion
