Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation is seeking a Quality Intern to support our quality team across product and process quality responsibilities. The role involves working with suppliers, manufacturing, and service staff to ensure quality standards are met and continuously improved.

The internship requires working toward a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields, with willingness to travel or relocate to Murfreesboro, TN for Summer 2026; relocation assistance is provided for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Operations Management/Business Administration, or related field.
  • GPA 3.0 or greater is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Windows OS.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Support Quality Department staff with documentation and audits.
  • Review and update quality records and processes.
  • Participate in meetings and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Operations Management/Business Administration, or related field

The Vocational segment includes market leading brands McNeilus, Oshkosh S-Series, IMT, Pierce, MAXIMETAL, Oshkosh Airport Products, and Frontline Communications. Our purpose-built products serve our communities with carefully designed and engineered refuse trucks, front-discharge mixer trucks, fire apparatus, Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting trucks, service vehicles, and command trucks. Our products are designed to perform under the toughest conditions.

SUMMARY

The Quality Intern job includes overall process and product quality responsibility. This may include our supplier base, test, manufacturing, sales floor, control test, exercising, pre-ship, deprocessing, customer fielding and service/warranty. Everyone is responsible for the level of quality, exceeding customer expectations, of the product. Quality interns work with Quality department staff while exhibiting a professional and cooperative attitude.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned:

  • Maintain a positive, professional working relationship with all customers.
  • Responsible for supporting Quality Department Staff.
  • Review and update quality documentation.
  • Actively participate in group and team meetings.
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal teams to correct and prevent quality issues.
  • Assist in problem solving and implementing solutions to quality related problems.
  • Assist staff with the disposition of defective material.
  • Participate in quality audits internally and externally.
  • Assist in supplier quality and process control.
  • Report and respond to quality process nonconformance issues in an expedient manner.
  • Work inter-functionally with Quality and Manufacturing to resolve quality related issues.
  • Must exhibit the ability to proactively complete assigned tasks.
  • Travel as required.
  • Must be willing to complete additional advanced training/educational courses as required.
  • Accurately maintain company records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Student working toward a Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Operations Management/Business Administration, or a related field for entire duration of internship.

Willing to travel or relocate to Murfreesboro, TN for the Summer of 2026 (relocation assistance provided for those with a permanent address of greater than 50 miles from Murfreesboro, TN)

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
