Job summary

Dorman Products is seeking an Engineering student to join our Quality Engineering team for the summer of 2027. For 10 weeks you will assist in reviewing and testing of products, perform containment activities, communicate with engineers, and verify effectiveness of vendor corrective actions.

This is a hybrid role in our corporate location in suburban Philadelphia (Colmar, PA) Monday through Thursday with the opportunity to WFH on Friday.

Qualifications

• Capable to learn how to perform product qualification testing.
• Ability to learn to use inspection tools and test equipment.
• Automotive product experience is a bonus; ability to interpret procedures and work instructions.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Understand primary types of customer complaints.
• Assist in containment and determination of root cause for customer product satisfaction gaps.
• Work with QE’s in determining root cause for returned product.
• Participate in cross-functional teams investigating issues.
• Support product development and reverse engineering functions.
• Support local site quality and operations.
• Help to implement controls to prevent recurrence of nonconformances.

The US base rate for this full-time position is $22/hr. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity.
