Job summary

Dorman Products is seeking an Engineering student to join our Quality Engineering team for a summer internship in 2027. The role is hybrid at our Colmar, PA location, with a Friday work-from-home option. You will review products, run containment activities, and present results to leadership.

Ideal candidates are actively pursuing an engineering degree, can learn testing procedures, and communicate results clearly. Auto product experience is a plus, MS Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• Capable to learn how to perform product qualification testing.
• Ability to learn to use inspection tools and test equipment.
• Automotive product experience is a bonus. Ability to interpret Procedures and Work Instructions.

Responsibilities

• Understand primary types of customer complaints.
• Assist in containment and determination of root cause for customer product satisfaction gaps.
• Work with QE’s in determining root cause for returned product.
• Participate in cross-functional teams investigating issues.
• Support product development and reverse engineering functions.
• Support local site quality and operations.
• Help to implement controls to prevent recurrence on nonconformances.

Job Summary

Dorman Products is seeking an Engineering student to join our Quality Engineering team for the summer of 2027. For 10 weeks you will assist in reviewing and testing of products, perform containment activities, communicate with engineers, and verify effectiveness of vendor corrective actions. Performance will be monitored to assure learning and development is happening and you will be expected to present project details to our leadership team at the conclusion of the internship. This is a hybrid role in our corporate location in suburban Philadelphia (Colmar, PA) Monday through Thursday with the opportunity to WFH on Friday. • Computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Excel

Education / Experience

• Actively pursuing a technical degree in an engineering-related discipline

The US base rate for this full-time position is $25/hr. The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge and skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal pay equity. Compensation decisions are made based on the specific facts and circumstances of each role and candidate.
