Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Quality Inspector (Starlink Aviation) on 2nd shift in Washington. You will perform in-process and final inspections, document nonconformances, and collaborate with design, integration, and quality teams to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include inspecting electrical and mechanical assemblies, traveling to repair stations, and supporting the quality management system; overtimes and weekend work may be required to meet deadlines.

QUALITY INSPECTOR (STARLINK AVIATION) - 2ND SHIFT

As a Starlink Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for executing a wide variety of inspections, nonconformance documentation, and the resolution of Starlink Aviation products. You will work closely with Starlink design and integration engineers, quality specialists, and the supply chain. SpaceX is looking to connect a wide variety of customers all around the world, and in this role, you would be directly involved and hands‑on with accomplishing this mission!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide detailed in-process and final inspections on electrical and mechanical assemblies, using detailed drawings, CAD models, and established processes to verify conformance to design requirements
• Travel to install and repair locations to provide detailed inspections of the repair station
• Identify, document, and resolve production and test anomalies in accordance with prescribed procedures and pursue corrective action as required
• Communicate and help resolve quality-related issues as they relate to the Starlink Aviation and Repair Station department
• Document production non-conformances in accordance with prescribed procedures and processes as required
• Support quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 2+ years of quality control experience in a manufacturing or production environment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 4+ years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's or associate's degree in a technical or engineering field
• Experience working with material review board and root cause/corrective action systems
• Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing priorities and tasks as delegated
• Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to work overtime, and weekends as needed to meet critical deadlines. Estimated shift times: 2nd shift: 3:30PM - 2:00AM
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
• Must be able to stand for extended periods - 8 hours min

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Quality Inspector/Level 1: $27.00 - $33.00/hour
Quality Inspector/Level 2: $31.00 - $39.00/hour
Quality Inspector/Level 3: $36.00 - $45.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
