Job summary

Flexible Metal, a Hyspan Company, is hiring a Quality Inspector/ QC Tech in Tucker, GA. The role focuses on in-process inspection, verification of set-ups, and maintaining documentation accuracy to ensure product quality.

The candidate should have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and manufacturing exposure; familiarity with quality systems like IATF 16949/ISO 9001 is preferred. Excellent attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience (2–3 years) preferred.
• Experience with IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 quality systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process quality inspection of product; verify job set-ups.
• Verify completion, accuracy, and timeliness of documentation.
• 100% inspection of product (Safe Launch) and ensure certifications are understood and followed.
• Identify and segregate suspect/nonconforming product from the process flow.
• Verify process compliance; read and understand process descriptions and machine settings.
• Perform visual inspection and ensure measurements follow work instructions.
• Inspect product using calipers, fixtures, and tensile tester; maintain clean work area.

What You'll do

The Quality Tech performs in-process inspection of product, verifies job set-ups and process compliance, and supports containment activities to make sure product meets quality and customer requirements.

• Perform in-process quality inspection of product; verify job set-ups.
• Verify completion, accuracy, and timeliness of documentation.
• Accurately perform quality inspection, sorting, and/or rework of products & packaging per applicable Visual Inspection Work Instructions and product Packaging Specifications.
• Perform 100% inspection of product (aka Safe Launch), utilize Quality Alerts, and ensure Certification / Containment Actions are understood, followed, and implemented.
  • When required, segregate and identify suspect or nonconforming product from process flow.
  • Participate in product inspection, sorting and containment activities, including confidently and accurately establishing a "clean point" and identifying "Certified Material," as necessary.
• Verify process compliance. Read and understand the process descriptions, inspection requirements, and machine settings.
• Perform visual inspection of product.Verify that product is being measured, work instructions are being followed, and processes are being followed.
• Inspect product using common measurement tools: calipers, inspection fixtures, tensile tester, etc.
• Respect Flexible Metal's fellow employees, quality and health & safety policies, and management system procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, and support others in their efforts to continuously improve.
• Act as a professional with a sense of optimism to meet and overcome challenges.
• Provide feedback and suggestions for continuous improvement actions pertaining to safety, product and/or processes.
• Operate production machines, as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous manufacturing (2 to 3 years) experience is preferred.
• Experience working in an IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or similar quality system is preferred.
• Strong record-keeping, communication, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, ERP and similar databases) are preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, frequent lifting of materials up to 35 pounds, repetitive bending and reaching, and safely operating warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.

This position is performed in a manufacturing environment. Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical equipment, moderate to high noise levels, temperature fluctuations in a non air conditioned area, metal dust, oils, lubricants, and other manufacturing conditions. The use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to all company safety policies and procedures is required.
