Job summary

Flexible Metal, a Hyspan Company, in Tucker, GA is hiring a Quality Engineer to lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the plant’s Quality Management System in support of automotive quality commitments. You will serve as the quality liaison with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure compliance and drive corrective actions.

The role emphasizes structured problem solving, 8D and APQP activities, and collaboration with engineering to maintain quality controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a quality function within an automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 environment.
• Direct experience with TS/IATF 16949/IATF 16949 required.
• Working knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, Red X, MMOG, and other automotive quality tools.
• Demonstrated experience interfacing with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
• Strong ability to interpret technical documents, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Solid understanding of shop math, including geometry and trigonometry.
• Skilled in preparing written reports and professional correspondence.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with coworkers, supervisors, customers, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Support the plant’s quality initiatives in alignment with company objectives
• Maintain, and improve IATF 16949–compliant Quality Management System procedures
• Serve as the company’s quality representative in interactions with assigned customers and suppliers
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to support and maintain appropriate quality methods and controls
• Lead structured problem-solving activities and oversee the corrective action process (e.g., 8D)
• Define, monitor, and report on customer satisfaction metrics
• Assist with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, including process definition, control plans, PFMEAs, and work instructions
• Support plantwide Continuous Improvement initiatives through training, documentation, and quality assurance practices
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What You'll do

What You'll Bring

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods, including computer use.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods on the shop floor.

• Ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, tools, and equipment requiring manual dexterity.
• Ability to distinguish colors, read gauges, blueprints, work instructions, and inspection documents.
