Job summary

Badger Meter is seeking an Inspector to ensure quality across incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products. You will collaborate with production and engineering to identify issues, improve processes, and ensure products leave the facility meeting our quality standards.

The role requires reading blueprints and specifications, performing precise measurements, and maintaining thorough inspection records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous manufacturing, quality inspection, or related experience preferred.
• Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to verify production requirements and tolerance limits.
• Perform inspections of incoming materials, first articles, in-process components, purchased parts, and finished products.
• Conduct testing and measurements to verify product dimensions, fit, appearance, and performance.
• Perform specialized testing, including hardness and holiday testing.
• Identify and troubleshoot print, drawing, and bill of materials discrepancies.
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records, including inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and rework orders.
• Coordinate the routing of nonconforming products for rework or corrective action.
• Investigate quality concerns and assist in resolving production issues that impact product quality.
• Communicate quality findings and deviations to production and plant leadership.
• Recommend improvements to quality standards, inspection processes, and production methods.
• Verify products are packaged and prepared appropriately to minimize damage during shipment.
• Process purchased material damage reports when incorrect or damaged materials are received.
