Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of quality inspection experience in controlled manufacturing.
  • Hands-on PCB inspection experience and ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in GD&T and dimensional inspection with measuring tools.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, email, and ERP/QMS data entry.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final inspection of PCB assemblies with magnification to verify specifications.
  • Inspect BOMs and customer drawings to ensure conformity with standards.
  • Apply quality procedures in line with industry standards and internal requirements.
  • Read blueprints and schematics to confirm product conformity.
  • Verify redlines with proper approvals and dates.
  • Execute inline QC, final QC, and IQC as assigned.
  • Follow production priorities and test products per work orders.
  • Perform First Article inspections and AS9102 documentation when required.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, gauges to validate dimensions.

PAYING -$22/HR TO $25/HR in Poway on 2nd Shift

Job Description

The Quality Inspector performs final inspection of printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies using microscopes, halo lights, or similar magnification tools to ensure products meet customer and internal quality standards. Working under close supervision, this role supports manufacturing in meeting quality and delivery requirements by interpreting blueprints, PCB drawings, and schematics, and by executing established quality control protocols in a controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform final inspection of PCB assemblies with or without a microscope, halo light, or similar magnification tools to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Inspect PCB assemblies to ensure they meet customer drawings, bills of materials (BOM), and internal standards.
  • Apply workmanship and inspection practices in line with relevant industry standards and internal quality requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, PCB drawings, schematics, and related documentation to confirm product conformity.
  • Verify that drawings are adequate for use and ensure any redlined changes carry proper authorization, approvals, and dates.
  • Execute in-line quality protocols, final quality control (QC) processes, and incoming quality control (IQC) procedures as assigned.
  • Follow production priorities established by operations and production leadership and test products according to work orders and special instructions.
  • Perform First Article inspections, which may include preparing and completing AS9102 documentation.
  • Use hand-held inspection tools and templates, such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other dimensional inspection equipment, to validate product dimensions.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 4 years of quality inspection experience in a controlled manufacturing environment such as aerospace, medical, or equivalent industries.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB inspection and PCB assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, PCB schematics, blueprints, and bills of materials.
  • Proficiency in geometrical tolerances and GD&T for dimensional inspection.
  • Experience performing dimensional inspection using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and templates.
  • Understanding of quality assurance procedures and final inspection processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • PC literacy with proficiency in MS Excel, Word, email, and ERP/QMS data entry.
  • Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to handle technical documentation and communication in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying defects and nonconformances.
  • Ability to consistently meet defined productivity targets and support on-time production runs.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
  • Capability to follow documented procedures and quality protocols accurately.

Work Environment

You will work as part of a small quality control team of approximately four people in a quiet, controlled manufacturing environment. The role operates on a second shift schedule, typically from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The work involves frequent use of microscopes, halo lights, magnification tools, hand-held measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges, as well as vision systems, CMMs, and computer-based tools including MS Excel, Word, email, and ERP or QMS systems. The environment emphasizes cleanliness and safety, with clear company policies and procedures that guide daily operations and quality practices.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
