Job summary

APEL Extrusions, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform product inspections and verifications to ensure compliance with specs, control plans, and customer requirements.

You will document results, identify nonconforming material, and initiate holds or escalation as needed while collaborating with Quality and Manufacturing teams to support defect detection and continuous improvement. This role emphasizes accuracy and communication across shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous quality inspection or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret work instructions, specifications, inspection standards, and acceptance criteria.
• Strong attention to detail and visual defect recognition skills.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to accurately document inspection results and communicate quality concerns.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions within established inspection criteria and escalation authority.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively with Quality and Manufacturing personnel.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual, dimensional, and other required product inspections before, during, and after processing in accordance with established specifications, control plans, inspection standards, approved samples, and customer requirements.
• Perform final product verification prior to release and identify defects.
• Verify products against applicable acceptance criteria and accurately document inspection results.
• Identify, document, segregate, and communicate nonconforming material per procedures.
• Initiate product holds and containment and escalate significant or recurring quality concerns.
• Perform containment, sorting, reinspection, and verification as required.
• Collect and document defect and inspection data to support quality trending and corrective actions.
• Verify product identification, status, and traceability information.
• Verify inspection and measurement equipment is calibrated and appropriate for use.
• Maintain clean and organized quality inspection areas and records.
• Communicate across shifts and hand off open Quality issues and inspections.
• Support audits and corrective-action verification.
