Sonoco in Chatham, NY is seeking an Inspector Packer to support packing operations on a swing shift. You will label boxes, move products, and inspect for conformance to specifications using gauges. Training will build knowledge of product quality requirements and safe work practices.

Responsibilities include identifying quality issues, discarding non-conforming items, and communicating with supervisors. Overtime may be required from time to time.

Qualifications

• Prefer 1–2 years manufacturing experience.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
• Manual dexterity required; stand and perform repetitive motions.
• Reliable, with initiative and commitment to quality.

Responsabilités

• Make boxes with labels attached.
• Transfer product to package using packing methods.
• Inspect products for conformance to specifications.
• Use gauges to check basic dimensions.
• Notify supervisor when quality problems are detected.
• Discard products not meeting specifications.
• Seal containers and move on skid with box lifter.
• Follow safety rules and safe work methods.
• Work independently and manage multiple tasks; learn product quality requirements.
• Communicate with supervisors and peers to maintain cooperation.
• Overtime required occasionally.
