Job summary

PrecisionX Group is seeking a Quality Inspector-Packer to inspect, pack, and prepare products for shipment in line with customer specs and quality standards.

The role emphasizes mechanical and visual inspections, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and timely shipments in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • In-house training and manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret material cards and process sheets.
  • Good manual dexterity and attention to detail in inspection/packaging.
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gages, and optical comparators.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and pack parts according to due date priority and follow packing instructions.
  • Interpret sales write-ups and packaging instructions and maintain charts and records.
  • Operate scales and ERP to maintain inspection and production records and certifications.
  • Use ERP to process work orders, manage inventory and generate documentation.
  • Create shipping labels and documentation for domestic/international shipments and track deliveries.

Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector-Packer is responsible for inspecting, packaging, and preparing products for shipment in accordance with customer specifications, quality standards, and company procedures. This position performs mechanical and visual inspections, maintains accurate inspection and production records, and ensures that products are properly identified, documented, packed, and shipped.

Key Responsibilities
Inspection And Packing
  • Inspect and pack parts according to due date priority and follow approved specific packing instructions and supervisor guidance.
  • Interpret sales write-ups and special packaging instructions and accurately maintain charts and inspection recordkeeping.
  • Operate electronic counting scales and use the shop floor production control system to maintain accurate records for inspected and packed work, including pulling certifications and certificates of conformance.
  • Use ERP software to process work orders, maintain accurate inventory and transaction records, generate required documentation, and support production and shipping activities.
  • Use UPS, FedEx, and DHL shipping software to create shipping labels, prepare domestic and international shipment documentation, track shipments, and ensure accurate and timely customer deliveries.
Quality Inspection
  • Performs company quality control, technical and customer satisfaction activities.
  • Implements and follows inspection programs and instructions related to manufacturing objectives.
  • Operates all gages, software, vision systems and related SPC methodologies.
  • Documents and enforces Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the ISO system.
Non-essential Responsibilities

Skills And Abilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent GED-level education preferred.
  • In-house training is preferred. Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret material cards and process sheets, follow written and verbal instructions, and use computers effectively.
  • Good manual dexterity, eye–hand coordination, and attention to detail in inspection and packaging work.
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gages, optical comparators, and visual measuring systems.
Work Environment

This position involves working in a manufacturing environment that is adjacent to the shop work environment. The employee must be aware of potential hazards, including, but not limited to, working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, operating vehicles, exposure to electrical current, high temperatures, and chemicals. It's important to maintain a high level of alertness and caution while performing tasks in this work environment.

Salary Description

$19.00/hr. - $25.00/hr.
