Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX company, seeks a Quality Inspector onsite at the Sustaining Center in Oklahoma City to collaborate with lead inspectors, process engineers, and operations to ensure adherence to required manuals and standards.

You will perform varied inspection duties on engine/module subassemblies, verify conformance, and document results. Candidates should have a HS diploma or AA/AS with 2 years of related experience; background in F119 is preferred.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree with at least 2 years of relevant inspection experience.
  • Experience with quality management systems and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret engine manuals and technical data.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide variety of inspection duties monitoring the vendor repair of engine/module subassemblies and components.
  • Verify that repair work conforms to manuals, operation sheets, and engineering requirements.
  • Review technical data and service repair operation sheets for defined processes.
  • Confirm forms, tags, and vendor serviceability per established process.
  • Take measurements during inspection as required.
  • Perform visual inspection of tooling and measuring instruments and ensure calibration is met.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts to determine serviceability or reparability.
  • Review and archive all production and quality control paperwork and inspection reports.
  • Enter quality control data into the computer database.

The Quality Inspector will work closely with lead inspectors and supervisors, Logistics Program Management, Materials Specialists, Process & Methods Engineers, Operations, Mechanics and Records Management staff to ensure common processes are followed, and business needs fulfilled.

What You Will Do
  • Perform a wide variety of inspection duties monitoring the vendor repair of engine/module subassemblies and components.
  • Verify that repair work performed is done in conformance with technical manuals, operation sheets, and engineering requirements and does not endanger the safety of engine hardware.
  • Review technical manual data and service repair operation sheets to verify proper and complete adherence to the defined process for the repair of sub-assemblies and components.
  • Confirm forms, tags, and vendor serviceability per established process
  • Take measurements as required, during the inspection process.
  • Perform visual inspection of tooling, gages and measuring instruments to ensure they are in good working condition and that any required calibration or inspection requirements are met to verify compliance with quality procedures.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of parts to determine serviceability or reparability in accordance with approved technical data.
  • Reviews and archives all production and quality control paperwork, inspection reports and certificates.
  • Enters various quality control data into the computer database.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • HS Diploma or AA/AS degree(or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience with Pratt & Whitney Quality Management Systems, inspection procedures and Quality standards.
  • Experience in F119 engine overhaul and repair environment to include SAP.
  • F119 Inspection experience and ability to use precision measuring equipment and techniques.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment, and working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret F119 technical data and engine manuals.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 41,400 USD - 72,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
