Job summary

South Bay Solutions, Inc. in California is seeking a Quality Inspector to maintain our strict quality standards for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished parts.

You will analyze inspection results, document findings, and ensure compliance with customer and company specifications. Responsibilities include reading blueprints, performing measurements with CMMs and inspection tools, maintaining traceability records, creating reports, and supporting quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Up to 2 years of mechanical inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and ASME Y14.5M standards.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts, geometry, trig, and datum structures.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Perform inspections on surface plates and other inspection equipment.
• Measure and test products using a variety of inspection tools and equipment.
• Conduct visual inspections to customer and company requirements.
• Maintain product identification and traceability records.
• Document inspection data, create reports, and issue NCRs within the ERP system.
• Accept or reject products based on inspection results.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and KPI tracking.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for maintaining South Bay Solutions' quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products. This role includes analyzing inspection results, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with customer and company specifications.

Available Shifts

Swing Shift

• Monday through Friday
• 2:30 PM to 11:05 PM

Weekend Shift

• Friday, Saturday, Sunday
• 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Manual Mitutoyo CMM
  • Zeiss CMM programs
• Ability to:
  • Set up and troubleshoot CMM programs
  • Validate parts using multiple inspection methods
  • Analyze and trend inspection data and KPIs
  • Communicate inspection methods and results effectively
