Job summary

United Felts, a Vortex Company, is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform in‑process and final inspections, ensuring products meet specifications and quality standards. You will detect defects, contain nonconforming materials, and feedback to production teams to drive continuous improvement.

You will document results, isolate nonconforming items, and communicate outcomes to Quality, line leaders, operators, and supervisors, while supporting end‑of‑line checks and customer requirements in a

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years in quality or manufacturing inspection preferred.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions, drawings, and specifications.
• Familiarity with basic measurement tools such as a tape measure.
• Good hand-eye coordination and ability to work independently.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
• Standing, lifting up to 35 lbs, and walking for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Document inspection results accurately and in real time.
• Identify, isolate, and tag nonconforming product for review or rework.
• Communicate inspection results to Quality, line leaders, operators, and supervisors.
• End‑of‑line inspection checks, and customer‑specific requirements.
• Assist in verification of rework and nonconforming materials.
• Follow escalation protocols for major or recurring quality issues.
• Read construction sheet and customer requirement sheet fully to meet customer requirements.
• Assist co‑workers in machine setups as required.
• Assist co‑workers in wrapping and strapping material if needed.
• Participate in reporting any quality problems to Supervisor and QPA immediately.
• Inspect the liner for Quality Standards adherence.
• Repair and report any faults or defects in the liner.
• Cut samples for lab review and testing.
• Complete relevant paperwork and labeling liners.
• Ensure printed information is correct on liner.
• Check quality of weld on the first 5 feet of the liner as required.
• Ensure all rewelds are welded and taped.
• Stay in assigned working area.
• Review supplies and report shortages to the line Supervisor.
• Work safely following company policies and maintain 5S standards.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
