Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Quality Inspector in Milwaukee, WI for first shift. The role focuses on day-to-day inspection, documenting quality issues and interpreting engineering blueprints to ensure accuracy.

You will work under the Quality Manager and spend most time on the manufacturing floor. Responsibilities include inspecting parts and assemblies, generating data-driven reports, and supporting process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience with weld inspection
  • Prior experience with paint inspection
  • Strong blueprint reading
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Basic math skills including fractions and decimals
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel for reporting and analysis
  • Attention to detail and following directions
  • Quality assurance experience helpful
  • Engineering Technician experience helpful
  • Side note: pre-employment test for aptitude

Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts on manufacturing floor (30%)
  • Inspect assemblies on manufacturing floor (50%)
  • Process and analyze data (20%)
  • Prepare reports to support training or process improvements
  • Discuss issues with engineers or vendors and update SOPs

Job description

Title: Quality Inspector

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Hours: First Shift (~6:30AM - 3:00PM)

Salary: $18.00/hr - $25.00/hr (Based On Experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Inspector for day-to-day inspection, documenting quality issues per our process and presenting data in a statistical format. Due to the nature of this position, a qualified candidate must be able to interpret Engineering Blueprints as every aspect of inspecting our product relies on the blueprints to ensure accuracy. The Steel Inspector will work under the supervision of the Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

The position’s main responsibility is inspection and documentation of parts and assemblies. Once the data is collected, it will be turned into reports to develop training and/or process improvement strategies. Secondary tasks could fill up all or part of a business day at times. These tasks could vary greatly in day-to-day activities. Examples could include discussing issues with engineers, calling vendors, updating SOP's, or addressing anything that is out of the ordinary or with which there is an issue.

Breakdown of daily activities is generally as follows:

  • 30% Part inspection (on manufacturing floor)
  • 50% Assembly inspection (on manufacturing floor)
  • 20% Processing and analysis of data

Candidates should be aware that the majority of time will be spent on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications
  • Prior experience with weld and paint inspection
  • Ability to follow directions is extremely important and then to follow through in a timely, accurate manner
  • Strong attention to detail is extremely important
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (write reports in Word, create and use spreadsheets in Excel for analysis)
  • Basic math skills necessary to include fractions and decimals*
  • Strong ability in blueprint reading*
  • Ability to read and use a tape measure*
  • Possess mechanical ability/aptitude
  • Prior experience using Pareto Charts
  • Prior experience in quality assurance
  • Engineering Technician experience very helpful
