Job summary
Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Carson, CA is seeking a Quality Technician II, Inspector to perform detailed dimensional inspection and source inspection per customer procedures at our Howmet Fastening Systems unit.
The role requires reading blueprints, using micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and completing reports; you will communicate with supervision and may adjust the process within defined limits.
Qualifications
- 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience performing dimensional and visual inspection of manufactured parts
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and inspection requirements
Responsibilities
- Inspect parts visually and dimensionally for conformance to manufacturing drawings, quality control specifications and customer requirements.
- Must utilize all precision measuring equipment and techniques as applicable, including micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
- Request N.D.T. evaluations as necessary.
- Use statistical sampling plans; complete/verify various inspection reports-including S.P.C. charts, first article reports, and defective material and test reports.
- Complete data processing move transactions as required.
- Communicate any daily activities that may need to be passed forward to the next shift.
