Job description

Uses fixed or variable measuring instruments to inspect parts, products and/or processes and ensure conformance with established requirements and determination of compliance. Checks for irregularities and defects. Verifies specified dimensions on products or materials. Works under minimal supervision. May assist in orienting and training lower level associates.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Ability to both read and interpret the requirements of drawings and planning.
2. Ability to analyze drawing and planning requirements and make sound determinations of the appropriate inspection method/equipment to be used for product acceptance.
3. Ability to use all inspection/test equipment, except for coordinate measurement (CMM), required for determining product acceptance.
4. Ability to construct simple inspection set-ups and perform inspections to determine product acceptance; possess sufficient knowledge to perform inspections using complex set-ups constructed by a "Grade A" Inspector.
5. Ability to initiate and complete all quality (Inspection) related records and documents with minimal supervision.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE, CAPABILITIES AND SUCCESS FACTORS

1. Minimum of three (3) years prior experience in standard mechanical inspection as a "Grade I" Inspector (or equivalent) or better.
2. Basic knowledge of ASME-Y14.5 (Geometric Tolerance) and ability to apply/inspect to requirements with minimal supervision.
3. Expected Pay Range: $25.00 to $32.00 an hour.
