Job description

Uses fixed or variable measuring instruments to inspect parts, products, and/or processes to ensure conformance with established requirements and determine compliance. Checks for irregularities and defects. Verifies specified dimensions on products or materials. Works under minimal supervision. May assist in orienting and training lower-level associates.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Ability to read and interpret drawings and planning requirements.
2. Ability to analyze drawing and planning requirements and determine the appropriate inspection method/equipment for product acceptance.
3. Ability to use all inspection/test equipment required for product acceptance, excluding coordinate measurement (CMM).
4. Ability to set up simple inspection setups and perform inspections to determine product acceptance; capable of performing complex inspections using setups constructed by a “Grade A” Inspector.
5. Ability to initiate and complete all quality inspection records and documents with minimal supervision.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE, CAPABILITIES, AND SUCCESS FACTORS

1. Minimum of three (3) years experience in mechanical inspection as a “Grade I” Inspector or equivalent.
2. Basic knowledge of ASME-Y14.5 (Geometric Tolerance) and ability to apply and inspect to requirements with minimal supervision.

Expected Pay Range: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour.
