Job summary

Saber Power Services is seeking a Quality Inspector II to support Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Substation projects. This field-based role requires travel to active sites, a valid driver's license, and strong QA/QC experience.

You will implement the Quality Program, inspect electrical, civil, and structural work, and compile turnover packages in accordance with contract and client requirements. Some projects may require electrical background.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education in a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in Construction Quality Assurance / Quality Control position.
• Experience in related construction field or electrical preferred for recent graduates.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be willing to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA and QC activities on active construction sites.
• Implement Quality Manual, project Quality Plans and ITPs.
• Provide quality-related support to project teams to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
• Review assemblies and installations for IFC drawings and project specs.
• Identify, document, and track deficiencies and monitor corrective actions.
• Identify and track damaged or non-conforming materials.
• Coordinate with Materials Management regarding repair or replacement of non-conforming materials.
• Maintain and update the Master Punch List.
• Compile Progressive Turnover Packages and QA/QC documentation.

Saber Power Services is currently looking to add aQuality Inspectorto support Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Substation construction projects across multiple locations.

Position Summary

The Quality Inspector will be reporting to the Director of Project Management, Quality Manager, Substations, and operationally to the assigned Project Manager, this role is responsible for managing Quality activities on Saber Power Services’ BESS and Substation construction sites. This includes inspecting electrical, civil, and structural installations; implementing SPS’ Quality Program and Quality Management System; and compiling Progressive Turnover Packages in accordance with contractual and client requirements.

Please Note: This is a field-based role, with regular travel to active project sites. Applicants must be willing to travel and hold a valid driver’s license.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities on active construction sites
• Implement the Company Quality Manual, project-specific Quality Plans, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
• Provide quality-related support to project teams to ensure compliance with contractual, client, and regulatory requirements
• Review assemblies and installations for completeness and compliance with IFC drawings and project specifications
• Identify, document, and track deficiencies, and monitor corrective actions
• Identify and track damaged or non-conforming materials
• Coordinate with Materials Management regarding repair or replacement of non-conforming materials
• Maintain and update the Master Punch List
• Compile Progressive Turnover Packages and QA/QC documentation

Requirements

• Post-Secondary education in a related field
• Demonstrated experience in Construction Quality Assurance / Quality Control position
• We may also consider candidates with related construction experience or recent graduates in a technical field (Electrical preferred)
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be willing to travel to project sites

Preferred Skills / Qualifications

• Power systems experience including Substations, BESS, Transmission, or Distribution
• Experience with civil, structural, and electrical installations
• Experience with Concrete, piling, and earthworks
• Trade certification or professional designation (Preferred)
• Strong technical document interpretation skills
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Procore (Preferred)
