Job summary

Job Summary

The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring products meet established quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. This role performs inspections of mechanical and electrical assemblies, verifies compliance with specifications and work instructions, and supports production operations to safely deliver high-quality products. The Quality Inspector works closely with manufacturing teams to identify nonconformances and verify that screws are torqued to specification and that valves, fittings, hoses, tubing, and electrical connections are properly assembled and installed according to engineering and quality requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and repetitive inspection procedures to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout various stages of production.
  • Inspect in-process and finished assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components for conformity to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Verify proper installation and assembly of mechanical components, including valves, fittings, hoses, tubing, and related hardware.
  • Inspect electrical connections, wiring, and electrical hookups for accuracy, workmanship, and compliance with documented requirements.
  • Read and follow visual aids, engineering change notices, work instructions, and established operating procedures to determine acceptance or rejection of product.
  • Perform visual inspections using approved inspection methods, gauges, measuring devices, lot sampling techniques, and first article inspections.
  • Identify and document quality defects, nonconformances, and workmanship issues and escalates concerns as appropriate.
  • Enter inspection results and standardized information into manufacturing and quality systems to document pass/fail status and inspection findings.
  • Work under the direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, Quality Supervisor, or other designated leadership.
  • Follow standardized written procedures and visual work instructions for assigned quality assurance activities.
  • Support production teams in maintaining product quality, process compliance, and customer requirements.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and security requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of visual quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment required or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Previous manufacturing, quality inspection, assembly, or production experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work within manufacturing systems and software.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, work instructions, and inspection criteria preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects, quality concerns, and assembly issues.
