Job summary

Engineered Plastic Components is seeking a Quality Inspector to verify part dimensions and approve parts at various stages of production on the Osceola, WI site.

The role requires attention to detail, reading blueprints, and basic computer skills, with duties spanning materials, in-process and finished product inspections, data entry, and collaboration with Production and Quality teams.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of measurement systems.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Basic ability to read and understand prints and technical documents.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills in Word, Excel and Windows.
  • Leadership and team building.

Responsibilities

  • Use appropriate inspection methods to verify part dimensions.
  • Approve initial production parts prior to production startup (molding).
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting unacceptable materials.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.
  • Communicate with Production when issues are found.
  • Documents inspection results inputting data into quality database or appropriate data log.
  • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs.
  • Assist, when directed by the Quality Manager, the second operations/sorting department.
  • Work on production floor when you have free time.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
  • Establish, maintain, and review SPC charts as applicable
  • Use computer-assisted measurement and analysis systems
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards
  • Assist in audits, communicate results, and verify corrective actions
  • Assist the Quality Engineer in performing layouts; gage R&Rs, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager

Job Position: Quality Inspector

Reports To: Quality Manager

Authority: All employees have the authority to stop operations/production for the following three reasons: 1) a quality defect, 2) an unsafe act, or 3) a health hazard.

Job Competencies/Duties (include, but are not limited to):
