Job summary

Pennex is seeking a Quality Inspector I at our Leetonia, OH location. You will inspect aluminum extrusions and fabricated components, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.

Candidates should have keen attention to detail and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold high quality throughout manufacturing. Responsibilities include preparing samples, performing tensile and other tests, documenting results, and producing certifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required or equivalent experience.
  • 1+ years related quality experience or training preferred.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Tensile Samples using band saws and drill press.
  • Perform Tensile tests using specified equipment.
  • Document test results using Document Manager system.
  • Create material certifications using spreadsheet forms.
  • Prepare samples for Flare and folding tests.
  • Perform flare and folding tests with equipment.
  • Document results by photography.
  • Maintain/produce material certifications.

Overview

The Quality Inspector I is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of aluminum extrusions and fabricated components, identifying deviations from specifications, and implementing corrective actions. Keen attention to detail, understanding of industry standards, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will contribute to maintaining the highest levels of quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Keen attention to detail, understanding of industry standards, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will contribute to maintaining the highest levels of quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepares Tensile Samples using Oliver & band saws and drill press
  • P erform s Tensile tests using Tinius Olsen equipment
  • Document s test results using Document Manager system
  • Create s material certifications using spreadsheet form(s)
  • Prepares samples for Flare testing and folding tests
  • Performs flare and folding tests using Tinius and hydraulic press
  • Documents test results by photographic means
  • Creates material certifications using spreadsheet form(s)
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 or more years of related quality experience and/or training
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment
  • Consistently exhibits a positive, respectful attitude towards co-workers and customers
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsorships are not available
  • Regular attendance required
