Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Quality Inspector I to join the quality team at our Jamestown facility. The role involves planning and performing mechanical assembly, tests, fabrication, and inspection within standard environments to ensure workflow. First shift: Monday–Thursday, 6am–4:30pm.

Responsibilities include validating product acceptability, generating quality records, and interfacing with customers while adhering to EH&S policies and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
  • Preferred: basic knowledge of inspection methods and ability to perform gauging and visual inspections.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of quality systems software (e.g., SAP, Teamcenter, Pilgrim) and Microsoft applications.

Job description

Collins Aerospace is looking for a Quality Inspector I to join the quality team at our Jamestown, North Dakota facility. This position plans and performs a variety of mechanical assembly, tests, fabrications, and inspection operations on various products in standard and non-standard environments to maintain flow of work. This is for 1st shift: Monday through Thursday from 6am to 4:30pm.

What You Will Do
  • Validate the acceptability of a product.
  • Validate, initiate and/or complete quality records such as work orders, rejection tags, pick‑ups, FAI forms, etc.
  • Interface and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Adhere to all EH&S regulations and policies and attend related training courses.
  • Follow EH&S roles and responsibilities in accordance with Cargo Policy MP5322.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., G.E.D.) or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of inspection methods and proficiency in performing all required gauging and visual inspections.
  • Basic knowledge of blueprints and ability to interpret engineering drawings and applicable specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of pertinent customer/company specifications and international standards relating to finishes, special processes, policies, processing, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance.
  • Knowledge of applicable software systems used in the Quality Management System such as SAP, Teamcenter, Pilgrim, and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
