Summary

The Quality Inspector verifies product quality by performing inspections on the production line. This role verifies ongoing conformance with established quality standards and rejects non-conforming parts for inconsistent color, function, fit, and cosmetic defects. The Quality Inspector supports the Quality Department in maintaining quality standards across all products and finished goods, documents inspection activity, and contributes to quality decisions on the production floor.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on the production line to verify ongoing conformance with established quality standards
• Inspect finished products before transition to the next department or holding area
• Identify visual defects, including inconsistent color, function, fit, and cosmetic defects, and reject non-conforming parts
• Properly use quality gauges, tools, and measurement devices to verify product conformance
• Contribute to quality decisions in partnership with the Quality Department
• Conduct layered audits and routine quality checks in assigned work areas
• Document quality assurance activities and prepare audit reports
• Generate detailed quality reports as required
• Maintain accurate and complete inspection records
• Identify and communicate quality trends or recurring defects observed during inspection
• Make recommendations for quality and process improvement
• Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies
• Maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance
• Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container)
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required

Experience

• 1+ years of previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience using quality gauges, measurement tools, or inspection equipment preferred
• Demonstrated reliable work history and consistent attendance in prior employment

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for periods of up to 12 hours: safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, nitrile gloves, ear protection, and cleanroom suit
• Must be able to repeatedly lift, push, and pull materials or equipment up to 20 pounds for periods of up to 12 hours
• Must be able to occasionally twist, bend, and reach overhead
• Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods
• Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate tools, equipment, and computer systems
• Work is performed in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment, including production and clean room areas
• Work may involve handling or working in proximity to hazardous materials and regulated industrial chemicals
• Exposure to chemical vapors, dust, or other controlled substances may occur depending on process assignment
• Strict adherence to company safety policies and OSHA Hazard Communication requirements is mandatory
• Employees must properly wear and maintain assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times within designated areas
• Required PPE may include respirators, chemical-resistant garments, gloves, eye protection, face shields, or other equipment determined by process and risk assessment
