Job description

Data Center Systems is recruiting and looking for a Quality Inspector to join the team.

Summary

Ensure that materials and products received and shipped meet all customer and DCS quality requirements.

Primary Responsibilities

• In-Process Quality Inspection
  • Interferometer Inspection
• Final Quality Inspection
  • Insertion and Return Loss Testing
  • End Face Analysis
• Quality related data collection, entry, and reporting
• Product testing
  • Insertion and Return Loss Testing
• Ability to use or learn to use various types of light duty equipment such as:
  • Cable measuring and cutting machines
  • Cable labeling machines
  • Curing ovens
  • Connector polishing machines
  • Visual inspection equipment
• Ability to use light duty hand tools for cutting, stripping, and mechanical assembly
• Fiber optic cable manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to read or learn to read engineering drawings.
• Ability to use or learn to use various forms of measurement and test equipment.
• Strong attention to detail is imperative.
• Ability to use or learn Microsoft Office is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally, depending upon position focus.
• Quality Assurance experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience with SAP Business One is a plus but not required.
• Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus but not required.
• Previous fiber optic cabling experience is a plus but not required.
• Previous OptoTest/Viavi/JDSU fiber optic testing equipment experience is a plus but not required.

Working Conditions

Working conditions are normal for an office / light manufacturing environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work on short notice.
