Quality Inspector - Aerospace Components
Local - Great Pittsburgh - Irwin, PA
Base hourly pay rate $26 to $28 - Eligible for OT

Our manufacturing client is expanding their quality team and is looking to add a quality control inspector responsible for performing detailed inspections of customer components both before and after Abrasive Flow Machining processing. The inspector ensures components meet incoming specifications before processing and verifies that post-processing outcomes meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect customer components before processing to ensure they meet specifications and are ready for processing.
  • Use profilometers, comparators, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools to ensure parts conform to customer-specified tolerances.
  • Confirm that all incoming components meet quality standards and customer requirements before processing.
  • Conduct post-processing inspections to ensure components meet the required specifications after treatments.
  • Verify that parts meet surface finish, dimensional accuracy, and other customer expectations.
  • Record and report inspection results, noting deviations and ensuring clear documentation.
  • Generate Certificates of Conformity (COC) for customer components.
  • Record deviations and quality issues, reporting them promptly.
  • Maintain comprehensive inspection records in accordance with company standards.
Compliance
  • Ensure inspections comply with standards like ISO, QS, AS, MIL, ANSI, and customer specifications.
  • Apply GD&T principles when necessary.
  • Work with production teams to communicate quality issues and suggest corrective actions.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proficient in using measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, profilometers, gauges, and FARO arms.
  • Knowledge of Abrasive Flow Machining techniques is a plus.
  • Understanding of Quality Standards (ISO, QS, AS, MIL, ANSI).
  • Solid understanding of GD&T.
  • Strong ability to identify deviations and ensure compliance.
  • Ability to document inspection findings accurately.
