Job summary

Barnes Aerospace in Warren, MI is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support inspection of precision parts. You will operate CMMs and perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections per standard procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Aerospace or general manufacturing quality experience with ISO 9001/AS 9100 knowledge is a plus.
• Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gauges, micrometers, borescopes, and other measuring tools.
• Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform dimensional calculations.
• Attention to detail and precision in measurements.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills for troubleshooting measurement issues.

Responsibilities

• Operate and/or program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to measure and inspect precision parts.
• Perform dimensional inspections on machined parts, First Piece layout, In-process, and Final Inspection.
• Perform dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspections using standard documentation and procedures.
• Perform receiving inspection on incoming products.
• Ensure that all parts inspected meet customer criteria for acceptability.
• Inspect parts for nonconformance and follow the non-conforming product procedure.
• Use measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments.
• Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and CAD models to perform accurate measurements.
• Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
