Job summary

RTX is seeking a Quality Inspector for the Repair Operations division, on the 2nd shift (3:30pm-1:30am, Mon-Thu, 4x10). You will inspect parts, tools, and gages against engineered data, record measurements, and determine repairs or rework as needed.

Candidates will perform dimensional and visual checks using standard instruments, maintain inspection stamps, and support continuous improvement. Requires high school or GED and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting parts, tools and gages using documented procedures and data.
• Familiarity with fixed and variable measuring instruments and how to record results.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal, and basic computer skills.
• Proficient in reading and using shop math for calculations related to inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections per procedures, drawings, and data.
• Use fixed/variable measuring tools to verify dimensions and record results.
• Determine nonconformance and document appropriate actions.
• Ensure Work Instructions are followed and maintain equipment calibration/inspection stamps.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Review customer parts on receipt and determine repair path for inspection.

What You Will Do

This is an amazing opportunity to work on our Operations Team as a quality inspector, in the Repair Operations division. This is a 2nd shift. 3:30pm-1:30am , Monday-Thursday. ( 4 x 10)

• Work applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, Engine Manuals and other pertinent instruction and/or Approved Technical Data to plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools and gages and other equipment, accepting material or referring for rework or quality review based on findings.
• Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments where work instructions are well defined to check dimensions and record results.
• Perform necessary mathematical computations to determine extent of nonconformance and complete appropriate paperwork.
• Follow proper procedures to perform inspection checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that Work Instructions are being followed.
• Recognize need and arrange for repair or replacement of measuring equipment used in performing the work as necessary.
• Support and promote continuous improvement activities to meet business objectives.
• Must maintain Inspection stamp.
• Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
• Flexibility around shifts, for training and to maintain workflow, to include overtime
• May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individuals' skills.
• Reviewing Customer parts as received, and determining the start of their repair path.Receiving Inspection.
• Working with Legacy, Military, and GTF parts.
