Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking an inspector for 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:30pm–12:00am) in East Granby, CT. The role covers final inspection of aerospace engine parts, dimensional and visual checks, and documentation to ensure parts meet customer specifications.

Qualified candidates will have 2+ years in aerospace/manufacturing inspection, GD&T knowledge, and experience with CMMs (PCDMIS/MODUS) or turbine engine repair environments. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of inspection experience in aerospace/manufacturing preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents, blueprints and customer specs.
  • Must have working knowledge of GD&T, gauges, micrometers and other measuring tools.
  • Experience with CMMs using PCDMIS and MODUS is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Final inspection of finished aerospace engine parts and components.
  • Measure features/holes and determine acceptability to customer requirements.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection using required gauges and measuring equipment.
  • Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to meet customer criteria for acceptable parts.
  • Complete required paperwork for defective or reworked parts.

2nd Shift: Mon-Fri, 3:30pm - 12:00am

15% differential effective on 2nd shift

Your Expertise:

  • 2+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace or general manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Previous experience performing dimensional and visual inspection in an aerospace environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, blueprints, repair manuals, and customer specifications
  • Must have working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gages, micrometers, borescopes and other measuring tools
  • A strong background in manufacturing and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is required
  • Proficiency in operating CMMs using PCDMIS and/ or MODUS software (highly desirable)
  • Previous experience performing incoming, in process, or final inspections in a turbine engine repair environment (highly desirable)

  • Final inspection of finished aerospace engine parts and components

  • Inspection includes visual and dimensional using requited gaging and measuring equipment
  • Interpret operation sheets and blueprints meet customer criteria for an acceptable part
  • Ensure that all parts being inspected meet criteria for an acceptable part
  • If a part is defective or needs re-work, Inspector must complete required paperwork associated with this task

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required
