Job summary

Wallenius Wilhelmsen is hiring a Quality Inspector for 1st shift (6am–2:30pm) in Lafayette, IN. The role focuses on documenting non-conformities, communicating with leads, and ensuring the correct vehicles are serviced by verifying VINs and barcodes.

You will follow safety procedures, keep work areas clean, and participate in mandatory QC meetings. Prioritize attention to detail, learn our processes quickly, and support continuous quality improvements across the line.

Qualifications

• Must understand or learn vehicle assembly and quality-control processes.
• Identify quality issues and contribute to countermeasures.
• Understand customer requirements prior to shipment.

Responsibilities

• Document non-conformities and coach installers as needed.
• Coordinate with Lead and Supervisor to prevent issues and coordinate repairs.
• Verify VINs against bar codes and window stickers to ensure correct vehicle service.
• Report quality problems to management promptly and accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas.
• Attend mandatory QC meetings outside of normal shift times.
