Precision Resource, Inc. in Vernon Hills, IL seeks a 1st Shift Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing division. You will inspect and audit processes, contain nonconforming parts, and ensure operators are trained in inspection techniques.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years metal working/stamping environment and/or 2 years quality inspection in production facility.
• GD&T knowledge is desirable but not required.
• Strong math skills and high attention to detail.
• Aptitude to learn measurement equipment such as profilometer and contour tracer.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and audit manufacturing processes, products, and materials for conformance to control plans.
• Contain suspect material and nonconforming parts; assist in rework instructions with Quality Engineer.
• Communicate quality requirements to production and ensure operators are trained in inspection methods.
• Operate CMM and other inspection tools per control plans and assignments.
• Document results in Plex ERP; write rework jobs and maintain records.
• Report nonconforming materials promptly to Quality and Production supervision.
• Participate in special projects as assigned by Quality Manager.
• Support competitive hiring range of $20–$22.50/hour with potential annual bonuses.

Precision Resource seeks a 1st Shift Quality Inspector to join our well-established Vernon Hills, IL manufacturing division supporting Quality goals. We’re a small-medium sized division of our solid, privately held, global company that innovates and manufactures a high volume of metal parts for automotive, aerospace, hardware and other industries.

As part of our Quality Team, and working regularly with the production team, this position supports the company’s achievement of all quality goals.

Essential Duties

• Inspect and audit manufacturing processes, products, and materials to confirm compliance with control plans.
• Contain suspect material, parts, and nonconforming product. Work with Quality Engineer to develop product rework instructions as required.
• Communicate quality requirements to production personnel and ensure operators are properly trained in inspection requirements and measurement techniques.
• Learn and operate CMM to conduct inspections in accordance with control plans and special assignments.
• Learn and operate profilometer, contour tracing equipment, part cleanliness tests, and other inspections and tests in accordance with control plans and special assignments.
• Use company's ERP (Plex) computer system to write rework jobs, conduct containment, maintain accurate records, etc.
• Promptly report nonconforming materials and products to Quality and Production Supervision.
• Special projects as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Experience/Skills

• 1–3+ years metal working/stamping environment and/or 2years' quality inspection experience in a production facility
• CMM programming knowledge ideal but not required.
• Operation and interpretation of various measurement devices including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and height gauges.
• Strong math skills.
• Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail in work performed.
• Aptitude to learn use measurement equipment such as a profilometer, contour tracer, form tracer /surface finish.
• Basic blueprintreading ideal. (GD&T knowledge desirable).
• Collaborative team player with very good listening skills.
• Ability to positively influence others through the presentation of objective evidence and data.
• Must be occasionally shift-flexible to cover department vacations and production demands.
• Outstanding, reliable attendance history.
