Job summary

PrecisionX Group is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure deep draw metal stamping products meet customer specifications and internal standards. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections, interpret drawings, and verify conformance using precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities include first article and final inspections, nonconformance containment, and participating in continuous improvement while complying with AS9100 and ISO quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a quality-related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in a quality-related role within manufacturing (machining or stamping).
• Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments, GD&T per ASME Y14.5, and QMS documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform first piece, in-process, and final inspections on deep draw stamped components.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements to inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and optical instruments.
• Document inspection results according to company procedures and conduct visual inspections for defects.

Position Summary:

The Quality Inspector ensures that deep draw metal stamping products meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and internal quality standards through dimensional, visual, in-process, first article, and final inspections.

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday (5:00 AM - 3:30 PM) & Overtime Eligible

Requirements

Essential Functions:

First Key Responsibilities:

• Inspection and quality verification
• Perform first piece inspection in-process, first article inspection, and final inspection on deep draw stamped components.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, thread gauges, pin gauges, surface plates, and related tools.
• Conduct visual inspections for surface defects, burrs, cracks, and cosmetic issues and document inspection results accurately in accordance with company procedures.

Second Key Responsibilities:

• Nonconformance control and continuous improvement support
• Identify non-conforming products and initiate containment, reporting, and corrective action support activities including root cause analysis and First Article Inspection documentation.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and participate in internal audits, Corrective / Preventive Actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, customer-specific quality standards, and all applicable safety and housekeeping requirements.

Skills and Abilities:

• Associate’s degree in a quality-related field or equivalent experience required.
• At least 1 year of experience in a quality-related role within manufacturing environment (machining or stamping) preferred. Experience in lean manufacturing environment is preferred with understanding of 6 Sigma methodology.
• Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments, drawing interpretation, GD&T per ASME Y14.5, QMS (Quality Management System) documentation, and quality record maintenance.
• Detail-oriented, observant, organized, and able to work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to maintain product quality.
• Knowledge of the use of OCMM (Optical Coordinate Measuring Machine) required, preferred if have experience programming measurement routines with MSA (Measurement System Analysis) validation.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a manufacturing environment that is adjacent to the shop work environment. The employee must be aware of potential hazards, including, but not limited to, working near moving mechanical parts, operating vehicles, exposure to electrical current, high temperatures, and chemicals. It's important to maintain a high level of alertness and caution while performing tasks in this work environment.
