Job summary

Velosity Forest Lake in Minnesota is seeking a Quality Inspector to support our manufacturing facility on first shift. This on-site role offers a Monday–Friday, 7:30am–3:30pm schedule with a pay range of $21.04–$28.00 per hour and a 5% quarterly bonus target.

You will execute quality plans, sampling plans, and control plans for incoming, in-process, and final inspections, maintain product traceability, and support Quality System activities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Machine trades certificate or equivalent experience.
• 1+ year quality inspection experience.
• 2+ years in Medical Device or similar manufacturing environment preferred.
• Knowledge of basic Quality Systems (nonconformance, calibration).
• Ability to read, write and follow work instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Identify quality and compliance issues related to product, processes, and records; escalate as needed.
• Work with Quality Engineering to initiate holds and nonconformance records.
• Perform receiving inspection, in-process, and lot acceptance activities.
• Follow dispatch reports to ensure inspections meet rate and throughput expectations.
• Verify materials and products meet quality specifications visually and dimensionally.
• Produce accurate records of inspections and nonconformances.
• Demonstrate ability to perform activities in at least two areas (incoming, in-process, or lot acceptance).
• Other duties as assigned.

Velosity Forest Lake is searching for a Quality Inspector to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN on 1st shift. The Quality Inspector is responsible for executing quality plans, sampling plans, and control plans for incoming, in process, and final inspection requirements. Indicate inspection status, maintain product traceability and nonconforming material control, and support other Quality System activities as assigned. When required, the position will initiate material hold, nonconformance investigation, and execute approved material dispositions.

This is an on-site position.

Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-3:30pm

The typical pay range for this role: $21.04 - $28.00. This role is also eligible for our 5% quarterly bonus target.

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.

Essential Duties:

• Identify quality and compliance issues related to product, processes, and records: Escalate issues and identify affected items.

• Verify materials, components, and products meet quality specifications both visually and dimensionally in accordance with specifications or other Quality System requirements.
• Produce accurate records of completed inspections, as well as accurate descriptions of nonconformance issues when required.
• Demonstrated ability to perform the required activities of at least two of the areas: incoming receiving, in process, or lot acceptance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED-General Studies.
• Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
• Certificate-Machine Trades or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in quality inspection
• 2+ years of experience, preferably in a Medical Device or Component manufacturing environment
• Knowledge and understanding of basic Quality Systems (nonconformance, equipment calibration)
• Knowledge and understanding of inspection standards
• Ability to read, write in English, comprehend and follow work instructions.
• Ability to use a computer
• Ability to use hand tools
• Good manual dexterity and visual ability with high attention to detail

Physical & Mental Demands:

• Walking is required within the office/shop areas. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance. Must be able to lift 30 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment. Must have dexterity with hands.
• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results oriented); Ability to make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment:

This is a non-smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. This position may require one to move throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors as would be customary in an injection molding/ Precision Machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required:

When in certain locations of the facility, eye and ear protection are required. Closed-toed/ Slip resistant shoes are also required in certain locations.
