Job Summary
Velosity Forest Lake seeks a Toolmaker for either 2nd or 3rd shift to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN. The Toolmaker will execute tasks to build, service, and repair molds, tooling, and fixtures.
This is an on-site position.
Schedule: 2nd shift – Monday‑Friday 3:00 pm‑11:30 pm or 3rd shift – Sunday‑Thursday 11:30 pm‑7:30 am
Typical Pay Range: $27.80 – $41.71. This role is also eligible for our 5% target bonus program.

Essential Duties
Manufacturer Quality Tooling
- Build tool components at a high level of accuracy.
- Ensure tooling is free from errors requiring unnecessary rework.
- Maintain tooling through repair and maintenance, providing quick turnaround.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all molds.
- Build precision gauges and fixtures to support other manufacturing areas and understand component and/or mold manufacturing, making decisions on processing tolerances.
- Create documentation notes as needed for tools constructed.
Tool Component Construction and Schedule Attainment
- Assist production and maintenance on tasks when needed.
- Proficient as either a CNC machinist or EDM sinker and wire EDM programmer and operator.
- Plan and schedule tasks and projects.
- Work with the Quality Manager to create or update procedure books, following documentation change control policies.
- Set up and operate most standard tool‑room equipment including conventional mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
- Suggest improvements to molds or processes including materials and machines.
- Examine standard or previously used molds, tools, jigs, and fixtures and recommend design modifications regarding construction and function.
- Develop specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools, trace or sketch designs for repair or improvement.
Continuous Improvement
- Suggest improvements to molds or processes (materials & machines).
- Recommend design modifications for molds, tools, and fixtures.
- Develop specifications and sketches for specialty tools.
Safety and 5S
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Utilize 5S practices to organize the manufacturing area.
Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED – General Studies.
- 2‑year technical degree in tool and die or mold making.
- Valid identification and ability to work legally in the United States.
- 5 years' experience in a tool shop.
Physical & Mental Demands
- Walking within office/shop areas is required. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, turning, reaching, grasping, bending, and flexing limbs; proper vision; sitting for long periods; walking, sitting, climbing, balancing; lifting 30 lb and moving objects safely; dexterous hands.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them within a timely manner (results‑oriented); make decisions with limited information.

Work Environment
This is a non‑smoking, professional manufacturing shop with normal lighting and climate control. The position may require movement throughout the shop and office and may be subject to airborne contaminants and chemical odors customary to an injection molding/precision machining shop.

Protective Clothing Required
Eye and ear protection, and closed‑toed/slip‑resistant shoes are required in certain facility locations.
