Job summary

AAR Corp. is seeking a Quality Inspector to determine conformance of products to drawings and specifications and to assess airworthiness during maintenance, repair or alterations.

You will inspect incoming materials and manufactured parts, verify traceability, and log results in accordance with internal procedures. You will perform in-process and final inspections, support internal audits, and ensure compliance with FAR 145/Part 65 requirements before release to shipping.

Qualifications

  • Methods, practices, inspection techniques and tools used in the aerospace inspection role.
  • Microsoft Office basics.
  • Skill to learn industry-related software.
  • Ability to use inspection equipment and traceability documents to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Meets 14 CFR Part 145.155 requirements.
  • Meets eligibility for 14 CFR Part 145.157, 145.213 and Part 65.
  • Meets requirements of QE-STD-002.
  • Physical ability requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects incoming materials, manufactured &/or repaired parts and verifies conformance to manufacturer’s specifications and maintains traceability of parts &/or materials.
  • Ensures positive traceability by completing required documentation IAW internal procedures & work instructions.
  • Logs incoming parts and distributes to the appropriate departments as prescribed on AAR purchase orders.
  • Completes in-process inspections as required.
  • Conducts internal audits and associated documentation.
  • Completes dimensional inspections of manufactured & repaired products and completes inspection documentation including FAI.
  • Performs Final Inspections and ensures return-to-service requirements are met before release to shipping per FAR 145.213, 145.155, 145.157 and Part 65.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Description:

Completes dimensional inspections of manufactured & repaired products,

Completes inspection documentation required by contract or internal procedures, including FAI

Performs Final Inspections and ensures that all return to service requirements is met before the unit is released to shipping per FAR 145.213, 145.155, 145.157 and Part 65

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Methods, practices, inspection techniques and tools used in the aerospace inspection role
  • Microsoft Office basics
  • Skill to learn industry-related software,
  • Skill to utilize inspection equipment, tools, visual aids, and company procedures to inspect incoming manufactured & repaired parts and traceability documents for compliance with regulations and customer requirements,
  • Meets the requirements of 14CFR Part 145.155,
  • Capable of meeting the eligibility requirements of 14CFR Part 145.157, 145.213 and Part 65,
  • Meets requirements of QE-STD-002.
  • Any physical abilities required for the job (e.g., ability to lift a certain weight, stand for long periods).
