Job summary

AAR Corp is seeking an Aviation Inspector at our Illinois facility. The role involves verifying work on aviation articles, performing various inspections, and approving work for return to service per data.

You will review maintenance records and ensure all documentation is complete in line with current data. Candidates should hold an FAA A&P license, have 1–2 years of aviation experience (1+ year QC preferred), and preferably possess an AA degree or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license is required.
  • 1–2 years aviation experience required; 1+ years QC experience preferred.
  • AA degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school is preferred.
  • Have been exercising airmen privileges actively for the last 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies work performed on aviation articles is in compliance with manufacturer data and customer data.
  • Performs incoming, primary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Reviews maintenance records, documentation, and logbooks to ensure repairs, inspections, op-checks, and documentation are complete per data; authorized to approve work for return to service.
  • Performs tasks related to privileges under 14 CFR Part 65.
  • Adheres to company safety requirements while performing duties.

Job description

What you will be responsible for:
  • Verifies work performed on aviation articles is performed in compliance with manufacturer data and customer data.
  • Performs incoming, primary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Review maintenance records, documentation, and logbooks to ensure all necessary repairs, inspections, Op-checks, and documentation have been completed in accordance with the current approved/accepted technical data. Will be authorized to approve work performed for the return to service.
  • Perform task as assigned relating to the privileges granted under 14 CFR Part 65.
  • Always observing company safety requirements while carrying out assigned tasks.
What you will need to be successful in this role:
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license, required.
  • 1-2 Years aviation experience required; 1+ years QC experience preferred.
  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school, preferred.
  • Have been exercising their airmen privileges and actively engaged, for the last 2 years.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $26.75 to $33.19 hourly. This range reflects the base pay for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location. AAR offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/dental/vision/life/and AD&D insurance, 401(k) savings plan with employer match, paid time off and holiday pay, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth.
