Job summary

Adecco is assisting a major client in Garden City, NY in their search for a Quality Inspector on a contract basis.

You will perform first piece, in-process and final inspections using open setup, CMM and inspection methods to drawing requirements, with data collection for SPC and First Article reporting. Weekly pay is offered, with shifts Monday through Thursday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Post-high school education in math, engineering, inspection techniques or related fields is a plus.
• 3+ years mechanical inspection, aerospace experience preferred.
• Experience with measuring equipment (Verniers, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM).
• Familiar with MIL/NAS/MS/AMS/AWS/AS specs and standards.
• Ability to interpret drawings, tolerances and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret aerospace drawings using GD&T and maximum material condition concepts.
• Inspect detail parts and assemblies per drawing requirements using standard measuring tools.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports.
• Program and/or operate CMM.
• Collect and tabulate data for SPC use.
• Review First Article Reports per AS9102.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.

Job Description

Responsible for first piece inspection, in-process and final products using open set-up, CMM and inspection methods and techniques in accordance with drawing requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerances including and understanding of maximum material conditions.




• Inspect detail parts and assemblies per drawing requirement and specs using standard measuring equipment.




• Prepare and maintain inspection reports.




• Program and/or operate Coordinate Measuring Machine.




• Collect and tabulate data for SPC use.




• Review Supplier F.A.I.R./Generate First Article Reports per AS9102.




• Other duties as directed by the management.

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered

• High School Diploma/GED




• Post high school education in math, engineering, inspection techniques or related fields a plus




• 3+ years mechanical inspection, aerospace experience preferred




• Exp with measuring equipment, including Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, CMM Machines




• Familiar with MIL, NAS, MS, AMS, AWS and AS specifications and standards




• Interpret drawing requirements/specs and geometric dimensions and tolerances




• Familiar with special process specifications for heat treat, welding, and non‑destructive testing




• PCDMIS programming skills

Pay Details: $26.00 to $32.00 per hour
