Job summary

Verus Aerospace, LLC in Torrance, CA is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform inspection on all products to ensure they meet customer requirements before delivery. The role requires 2+ years in aerospace manufacturing and QC experience with GD&T, AS9102, and Discus software.

Qualifications

  • Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills: 2+ years college preferred; GED or high school diploma with related experience.
  • 1+ years aerospace manufacturing metal experience.
  • 1+ years quality control inspection experience; CQI is a plus.
  • Strong reading and math skills; ability to learn new tools.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and Excel; reading technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Approves incoming or outgoing metal materials by confirming specifications; visual and measurement tests.
  • Measures and examines parts for dimensional compliance with drawings and specs.
  • Identify and report non-conforming parts or discrepancies.
  • Apply GD&T and AS9102 inspection reporting.
  • Use Discus software; operate Faro Arm or Leica as needed.
  • Maintain MRP/ERP system data and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Quality Inspector

Salary Range: $25.00 To $32.00 Hourly

Position Summary

The Quality Inspector role is responsible for performing inspection to all products and ensure they meet the quality standards per customer requirement before they are delivered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Approves incoming or outgoing metal materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • examining and measuring parts to confirm dimensional compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
  • Experience with inspection tools: pins & block gauge, micrometers, Height gauge, Optic comparator, and calipers
  • Identify, report, and create any non-conforming parts or discrepancies in measurements.
  • A strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and AS9102 inspection report
  • Experience with Discus software.
  • 1-2 years experienced with Faro Arm or Leica.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems and an understanding of how the system works.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

  • Must have 1+ years aerospace manufacturing metal experience.
  • 1+ years manufacturing quality control inspection experience; CQI designation a plus.
  • Possesses good reading and math skills.
  • Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic computer skills; knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
  • Ability to read, understand, and apply contractual requirements, standards, specifications, blueprints, mylars, job travelers, governmental regulations, or technical procedures.
  • Have a positive attitude when working with internal and external customers in the workplace.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables in work situations.
  • Ability to work as a team in fast paced production environment andcross-training duties.
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities.
