Job summary

Brightpath Associates LLC in Stow, OH seeks a Quality Inspector 2 for the aerospace manufacturing team on the 11:00pm–7:00am shift. You will perform final inspection and in-process audits to ensure conformance with customer specs, purchase orders, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities include reading aerospace/military specifications, interpreting GD&T prints, operating a CMM, and maintaining documentation. A high school diploma is required; ASQ certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in a quality inspection role within machining, aerospace preferred.
• Competency with metrology equipment and GD&T interpretation.
• Able to operate CMM and review 8130 documentation where required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect/audit parts and processes to ensure conformance to specs and customer requirements.
• Read aerospace/military specs and GD&T print requirements; interpret prints accurately.
• Operate CMM and Surfcom tracer; perform First Article Inspections and DMR processing.
• Maintain paperwork, certs, and records; support lean and continual improvement.
• Supervise or assist inspectors as needed and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Job Title: Quality Inspector 2 - Aerospace Manufacturing - 3rd Shift

Location: Stow, OH

Duration: Full Time, Permanent (Onsite)

Job Description:

Responsible for final inspection and in-process audits of parts/assemblies/processes to meet customer specifications, purchase order, and quality requirements. Determine part conformity, compliance, and ensure that it is suitable for use by our customer.

**Shift Time for this position is 11:00pm - 7:00am Sunday through Thursday**

Essential Job Functions:

• Inspect/audit product using all variable or attribute measuring equipment and record results to ensure conformance with part and customer requirements.
• Be able to read and understand aerospace specifications, military specifications, industry specifications, and/or manufacturing instructions.
• Be able to read and interpret all print requirements including those developed using Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Perform Airworthiness Representative functions including 8130 documentations.
• Review, control and maintenance of paperwork, documents, certs, and records.
• Be able to set up and operate CMM using established programs and interpret results.
• Be able to set up and operate Surfcom contour tracer for detailed dimensions.
• Perform First Article Inspection.
• Process DMR’s.
• Manager source inspectors

Additional Duties:

• Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.
• Other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.
• Must remain current with, and complete all required training as assigned.
• Must adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ experience in a quality inspection role within the machining industry, preferably in an aerospace environment
• Demonstrated competency with metrology equipment.
• CMM operation (preferred)
• Computer Skills: Microsoft (Excel, Outlook, and Word), digital imaging, Adobe Acrobat.
• GD&T competency
• Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company.
• Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.
• Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies.
• May be required to perform manual lifting activities, not to exceed a 40lb lift performed by one individual.

Education:

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Additional quality training and/or ASQ certification preferred.
