Qualifications

Overview

The Quality Inspector will provide coverage of Quality Assurance Lab responsibilities in support of manufacturing operations. This position will have high visibility with manufacturing team members, Value Stream and engineering functions.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings and verify requirements as applicable to production / Production Part Approval Process (PPAP )parts. Communicate the results to the appropriate people in support of manufacturing operations.
  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing process capabilities
  • Recommend and specify instrumentation, calibration and gauging needs
  • Confer with others in the organizaiton regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status
  • Understand and perform to all quality regulations, standards and policies, including but not limited to ISO 9001:2015 and AAR M-1003
  • Follow work procedures and ensure highest level of quality and compliance
  • Responsible for prompt and regular attendance as scheduled, may be required to work scheduled overtime
  • Work safely following all established policies and requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Characteristics, Competence And Capabilities

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to use calipers, plug & thread gages, micrometers and other measuring devices
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints, job orders, tooling instructions, and standard charts
  • General knowledge/understand or some experience operating or programming CMMs (knowledge of PCDMIS is preferred)
  • Actively participate in defining strategies to meet quality objectives and in system reviews within the team
  • Actively participate in team meetings as required (safety, problem solving, etc.)
  • Ability to problem-solve individually or as part of a group as job duties require
  • Excellent ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities. Results oriented
  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers at all levels of the company
  • Strong sense of commitment and the capacity to function in an autonomous environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Perform housekeeping duties including 5S, coolant replacement, and TPM
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • 2+ years prior experience in quality inspection required preferrably in a manufactring enviornment
  • 5+ years quality inspection in a manufacturing is highly desired
  • Prior quality experience in a CNC Machining environment is a plus

Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is continuously standing, repetitively grasping and repetitively using fine manipulation with the hands
  • May be frequently required to walk, bend, squat, or twist as well as repetitively push or pull frequently up to 10 pounds, occasionally 25 pounds and infrequently 50 pounds with assistance
  • This position is performed in an active manufacturing/quality office environment, and as required by job duties, may also require work in a shop environment. Team member may be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold/hot temperature variations and occasional chemicals and vapors.

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Pay Range: $24.25 - $32.07
