Job summary

Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is seeking a Quality Inspector in Santa Fe Springs, CA to perform CMM-based inspections and ensure product conformance. You will handle receiving, in-process and finished parts, verify SPC data, and prepare certificates of conformance.

The role requires 2+ years of measurement experience, GD&T knowledge, and strong communication with cross-functional teams. Relevant calibration and MS Office skills are a plus.

Qualifications

  • Requires HS diploma or GED plus 2 years experience or equivalent vocational/technical education with 2 years relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using general measurement tools per inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Use proper inspection methods and complex equipment, including CMM operation and programming preferred.
  • Inspect receiving, in-process, and finished components using measuring/test equipment.
  • Verify SPC data for final acceptance of parts.
  • Interface with colleagues regarding quality issues.
  • Prepare certificates of conformance and documentation.
  • Recommend and assist in development and implementation of inspection instructions.
  • Ensure nonconforming material is segregated and documented.

What You Will Do
  • Use proper inspection methods & complex equipment (i.e., complex part set-ups and inspections, CMM operation & programming preferred)
  • Performs inspection of receiving, in-process, and finished components utilizing various types of measuring and test equipment
  • Verify SPC data when applicable for final acceptance of parts
  • Interfaces with other employees regarding quality issues
  • Inspection of Products/Material and Inspection Records through MES System and generates required documentation on discrepant disks
  • Inspection of returned goods from customers. Define the discrepancy and report as required; if applicable
  • Preparation of certificate of conformance as required by customer; if applicable.
  • Recommend and/or assist in development and implementation of inspection instruction
  • Ensure nonconforming material is segregated and is properly documented and controlled
  • Read, interpret, and comply with policies, applicable regulatory, safety and company rules and requirements, operating instructions, procedures.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) plus 2yrs experience ORvocational / technical education in related discipline plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in using general measurement tools per inspection requirements
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Basic to intermediate math competency (Geometry, Basic Trigonometry)
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) knowledge
  • Experience with calibration of Precision Measuring Equipment (calipers, micrometers, depth indicators)
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in (MS Office, Excel)

Contract through the end of the year, with the possibility of an extension
