Job summary

CEIS Power in Perris, CA is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector with 5+ years in dimensional inspections and quality control for machined components and assemblies. This direct-hire role supports rotating equipment and turbomachinery services in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will read complex drawings, perform precision measurements with CMMs, optical comparators, and portable arms, and contribute to nonconformance reports and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in a Quality Inspector role performing dimensional inspection and layout activities.
• Experience inspecting machined components and assemblies within a manufacturing, machining, or repair environment.
• Knowledge of dimensional inspection, layout practices, and precision measurement techniques.
• Proficiency using and maintaining precision measuring devices and inspection equipment.
• Experience using inspection equipment such as CMMs, optical comparators, and portable measurement arms.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Ability to perform trigonometric and geometric calculations related to dimensional inspection.
• Knowledge of machining practices and manufacturing processes.
• Working knowledge of welding processes and weld quality requirements.
• Experience performing visual inspections of welded components and repairs.
• Knowledge of non-destructive testing practices and procedures.
• Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 principles preferred.
• Experience with nonconformance reporting and corrective action processes.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 5% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and layout inspections of machined components and assemblies to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Inspect moderately complex parts using precision measuring devices and inspection equipment.
• Utilize inspection equipment including CMMs, optical comparators, portable measurement arms, and other calibrated measuring tools.
• Perform visual inspections of welded components and repairs to verify compliance with approved procedures, drawings, and internal quality requirements.
• Generate detailed inspection reports and maintain associated quality documentation.
• Generate and maintain nonconformance reports for discrepant components and assemblies.
• Coordinate the evaluation and disposition of nonconforming materials and components in accordance with company quality requirements.
• Support corrective action and continuous improvement activities related to quality issues.
• Maintain and support the calibration system for inspection and measuring equipment.
• Perform source inspections at supplier and vendor facilities as needed.
• Review supplier inspection reports, material certifications, and related quality documentation.
• Set up and evaluate components for dimensional inspection and quality verification.
• Support quality management system requirements and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with machining, welding, engineering, operations, suppliers, and other internal teams to resolve quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures.

This position is on a direct hire basis and our client, an industrial manufacturing and repair company specializing in rotating equipment and turbomachinery services, is looking for a motivated individual to join their fast-paced growing team. The right person for this position will be able to perform well under pressure and be adaptable to rapid change and redirection.
