Job summary

EPITEC in Pasadena, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector for a 12-month contract to support quality assurance for commercial and nuclear products. You will perform inspections, verify compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, review documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.

The ideal candidate has experience inspecting control and safety valves, reading engineering drawings (CAD), and using SAP ERP

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 3–5 years of quality inspection experience or a technical degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience inspecting control valves, safety valves, and safety relief valves.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD drawings; GD&T knowledge.
• Proficiency with SAP ERP Quality Control modules.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of commercial and nuclear products to ensure compliance with measurement, testing, and customer requirements.
• Verify warehouse picking accuracy by confirming part numbers, quantities, and product specifications.
• Review and compile quality documentation, including inspection reports, CMTRs, and final document packages.
• Accurately document inspection and testing results while maintaining quality records.
• Support MRB activities by identifying non-conformances and assisting with corrective actions.
• Conduct final inspections of assembled, tested valves in line with ITPs and customer specs.
• Verify product packaging methods meet internal standards and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and documentation teams to resolve quality issues and support customer satisfaction.
• Report internal and external quality defects and assist in identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with training operational personnel on quality standards and inspection requirements.
• Adhere to workplace safety policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Schedule: Onsite, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm

Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support quality assurance activities for commercial and nuclear products. This role is responsible for performing inspections, verifying compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, reviewing product documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting control and safety relief valves, interpreting engineering drawings, and working within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of commercial and nuclear products to ensure compliance with measurement, testing, and customer requirements.
• Verify warehouse picking accuracy by confirming part numbers, quantities, and product specifications.
• Review and compile quality documentation, including inspection reports, material heat reports, Certified Material Test Reports (CMTRs), and final document packages.
• Accurately document inspection and testing results while maintaining quality records.
• Support Material Review Board (MRB) activities by identifying non-conformances, participating in root cause analysis, and assisting with corrective and preventive actions.
• Conduct final inspections of assembled, tested control and safety relief valves, ensuring compliance with Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and customer specifications.
• Verify product packaging methods meet internal standards and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and documentation teams to resolve quality issues and support customer satisfaction.
• Report internal and external quality defects and assist in identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
• Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 3-5 years of quality inspection experience, or a diploma/technical degree in Mechanical Technology or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Experience inspecting control valves, safety valves, and safety relief valves.
• Experience using SAP ERP Quality Control modules or related quality management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and CAD drawings.
• Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• NDE Level II certification in Penetrant Testing (PT) and Magnetic Particle Testing (MT).
• Experience supporting commercial and nuclear industry quality standards.
• Familiarity with quality documentation packages, CMTRs, and inspection test plans.
