Job summary

Burnett Staffing Specialists in Katy, TX, seeks an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team. The role focuses on ASME BPVC equipment, piping, welding, and NDE to ensure products meet strict quality standards.

You will perform receiving and in-process inspections, NDE, pressure testing, NCR handling, and maintain accurate records and photos.

Requirements include 2+ years in quality inspection, ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II, with AWS CWI preferred; MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in quality inspection of ASME BPVC equipment/piping
• NDE Level II qualification per ASNT SNT-TC-1A
• AWS CWI certification is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office and documentation systems
• Ability to pass visual acuity and color vision testing

Responsibilities

• Perform receiving inspections and review quality documentation for materials, parts, and equipment.
• Conduct visual inspections of welding, including fit-ups, in-process inspections, WPS compliance, and final inspections.
• Perform and document NDE using applicable inspection methods.
• Conduct pressure and leak integrity testing, paint inspections, P&ID verification, and final inspections.
• Prepare and evaluate welder qualification coupons and testing.
• Identify, document, and follow up on non-conformances (NCRs).
• Maintain accurate quality and inspection records, including photographs and final documentation.
• Use a variety of manual and electronic measurement equipment, gauges, and testing tools.
• Assist the QC Manager and recommend improvements to quality processes and procedures.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector working with ASME BPVC equipment/piping in a shop or field environment OR as an NDE Level II Technician.
• NDE Level II qualification in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification preferred.
• Strong understanding of the products and processes being inspected.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based inspection/documentation systems.
• Ability to pass required visual acuity and color vision testing.

Physical Requirements

The position requires the ability to work with inspection and testing equipment, sit and work at a computer for extended periods, routinely lift up to 15 lbs., and occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
