Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Quality Inspector in Gloucester to join its advanced manufacturing team. The role focuses on CMM programming and inspection of composite and metallic components, ensuring adherence to customer and regulatory quality requirements.

As part of a fast-paced environment, you will support QA activities, generate FAIR documents and certificates of conformity, and continuously seek improvements in processes and product quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing quality environment.
• Hands-on CMM programming and operation.
• Knowledge of PCDMIS or similar CMM software.
• Strong dimensional inspection skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience using inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers and gauges.
• Understanding of non-conformance processes and MRB activities.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMM equipment to inspect composite and metallic components.
• Carry out visual and dimensional inspections on incoming materials, in-process parts and finished products.
• Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models and specifications.
• Produce inspection reports and maintain accurate quality records.
• Support MRB activities and non-conformance investigations.
• Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within quality processes.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO9001 and customer quality requirements.

Essential Skills, Qualification & Experience

• Experience working within a manufacturing quality environment
• Hands‑on CMM programming and operation experience
• Knowledge of PCDMIS or similar CMM software
• Strong dimensional inspection skills
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
• Experience using inspection equipment such as callipers, micrometres and gauges
• Understanding of non-conformance processes and MRB activities
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Desirable Experience

• Composite manufacturing experience
• Aerospace or defence industry experience
• Familiarity with CAD models and inspection planning
