JOB PROFILE SUMMARY:

Allegion Access Technologies is the leading manufacturer, installer, and service provider in the automatic door business. To promote the continuation of our reputation for quality and focused growth, we are currently hiring for the position of Quality Specialist at our Mount Comfort, Indiana location.

The Quality Inspector will be responsible for ensuring non-conforming product is contained and logged per standard work. This will be accomplished by performing routine dimensional audits, communicating issues to leadership, training others and maintaining quality records to support continuous improvement actions to support overall plant quality and efficiency improvement. This position reports to Operations to ensure required staffing however functional activities and authority are directed by the Quality Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform dimensional and mechanical inspections as required to ensure no department level escapes.
  • Collect and record quality related data, build reports and communicates effectively.
  • Assist in developing process controls, inspection frequencies and audit requirements to improve overall quality
  • Perform quality tasks as defined by the Quality Engineer/QC Leadership
  • Perform other tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in assembly or machine shop inspection.
  • Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience working with process, product or quality improvement teams.
  • Basic knowledge on existing systems to support data and communications as required.
  • Computer skills a must including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability and willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to communicate with all levels on the team.
  • Able to prioritize and perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work with limited direction.
  • Must maintain a certain level of urgency to control quality.
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to move/lift up to 75+ pounds, utilizing team lifting or tools to move assembled door components when needed.
  • Available to work overtime when needed.
  • You must have the ability to see well, including strong depth perception and the ability to distinguish between colors.
  • You will need to be able to frequently (4 or more hours per day): lift, carry (25-50 lbs.), stoop, twist, and reach (overhead and to the side)
  • Standard schedule is Monday through Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm. Overtime during the week and Saturdays when needed.
  • Pay starting at $19/hour PLUS based on experience.
